BTW a good sub to pair would be the sunfire mkIV....with the x/o set at about 35 or 40 hrz.

I see. It really works well with the ESLs. The newer Quads (989s?) don't even need a sub. They are magical on the end of Naim. Funny thing is that the Sunfire was the only piece of kit I didn't get from them. The rest of my gear is all from Promusica.

I suggest you contact naim for advice. I use a 250 to drive original ELS and I have had it modified to reduce the output voltage. This is a standard naim approved modification -- maybe it also exists for the Nait ? Look at recommended amplifiers James H
