i popped down there last week & Steve Sells very kindly gave me a good demo of the in-car system.
And very good it sounded too!
Thanks to Steve for his time and hospitality.
I think this tie-up with Bentley will be very good for Naim.

Hey, wait a minute! The steering wheel's on the wrong side. You would think for the amount of money those things cost they could at least get THAT right.

It's time cars like Bentleys were banned. We don't need morons with too much cash and small penises destroying the environment and intimidating other road users. Naim really should not be associated with such things. Line the drivers up against the wall.
Let's vent our spleen on this ridiculous venture rather than PB's new speakers!!

I pretty much agree. I am simply amazed that Naim, a fabulous company whose products I have used for more than 15 years, would get involved in such an utterly ridiculous venture. Kind of reminds me of Linn and their store at Harrods.

Why do people go to car shows?
Don't they have any music they could stay home and listen to.
Oh well.
Nice car though - at least it is not one of the silly Porsches like the one going much too fast through the village to-day and blaring Aerosmiff or some such tripe out at full volume - says it all really: the two inhabitants looked a motley crew to me.

Yeah clearly its madness for naim to get involved.
After all, bentley make 10000 cars a year and there will be a push to make the naim stuff a "must-have" factory fit option.
So thats (say) 8000 Naim amplifiers and 120,000 Naim speaker units (15 per car, I think), not to mention the halo-effect on the whole naim product range caused by in-dealer naim systems for bentley customers to sample.
Clearly business not worth going after. No point at all getting naim dealers to do joint events with their local bentley dealer. What was PaulS thinking of???

Good grief - this is going to be a big upgrade - now got to buy a Bentley to listen to my Naim system in.

Guys;
Cars in general have crappy sound systems. Cars in general are cheap and plasticky. Hmmmm.... How about getting a top of the line audio system and putting it in a car that doesn't feel like a tin bin? The reason that we all appreciate Naim is because of the great performance, exemplary build quality and the robustness and luxury of the material. Aren't these the same qualities that attract buyers towards luxury cars? If we have the right to enjoy such qualities when it comes to hifi then we should also accept that some other people need those same qualities in their cars.
From a buisness perspective Jon Honeyball has really said it perfectly. I'll use my local market to elaborate a bit. I'm probably one of 10 people within a 400 kilometer radius that knows what Naim is. But in that same area we have at least 200-300 Bentleys and millions of people that know what a Bentley is.This move will make Naim a household name and allow the company to penetrate virgin territory. Hell, this might be the second smartest buisness move ever in modern history. (the smartest being the invention of coke/pepsi).
Regards...

Hi
I wish Naim all the best with this new venture, but I can not help but think of the Linn Aston link up. I believe that was a less than successful pairing. I hope history does not repeat itself.

Hmmm, no green lights, what's the story?
BTW Flame, I reckon the smartest business move was the guy who discovered that people would pay money for bottled water.
