I recently bought my first ever Naim System - cd5i mk 2 and nac122x pre and nap150x power with naca5 speaker cabling. Thing is I am using B&W 705 speakers. I love the sound but am i getting the best sound from my Naim setup????
Was thinking about the motives but would this be a downgrade as the 705 cost me 1100 with stands. Is B&W a good match. Rock n metal music is my taste in music |

If you love the sound why do you want to change?

To dissipate any doubts, spend more time at your dealer's demo rooms to eliminate them all one by one.
I suggest you to not consider the price tag when it's time to make your mind about an audio component. Is it bringing something you'll like? That's the first question to answer, the second one might be now how much it cost! Have you listened your amplification combo fronted by a Naim CD5x CD player, Naim Flatcap 2x upgrade power supply, and Naim Hi-Line interconnect? Those may postpone your speakers upgrade a little for two obvious reasons... Bye. |

What Stoik says.
The CD5X/FC2X would be a better move. The Hi-line even greater on the above. Even try the Hi-line on what you have. Munch |

That's what I was thinking too. But as to your speakers, if you think they sound great, that's all that counts. Never mind what anyone else likes. Nigel |

I think source first(why not a CDX 2)is your best move. The B&W are nice speakers

I think you have a nice system as it is, and any small change you make, such as changing interconnects and/or speaker cables, will bring about a noticeable change in sound that only you can ultimately appreciate. But if you're looking for a "bigger bucks" improvement, I'd go for a power supply. |

I agree whole heartedly with "source first". Every upgrade I ever made in my system made me more impressed with my speakers, which were the last thing to get switched out, and that only when one broke.
Speaking of "source first", what are you using for a rack? |

exactly, you just put your system together, enjoy it, make small changes with interconnects, move the speakers arouund, do some research on your next "want" then make a move. You just dropped a load of cash, enjoy!!! rega1 |
