Having another try of Chord Indigos. This time the cables have been run in rather than being brand new.

Trying din->din between 555 and 552, and 2 x din->xlr between 552 and 300.

So far I'm very impressed. A veil seems to have been lifted from the music. There have been comments about Indigo screwing up the timing. I'm finding my feet are tapping along quite happily so I guess the timing is fine. THe music sounds more real and "live".

I'm also using Chord Signature speaker cable and tri-wire links. Perhaps having Chord from source to speaker keeps the timing correct, rather than mixing Indigo with naca5?

I've got a few weeks of playing to make my mind up. Good Times!!!

Why should Graham care what someone else thinks?

I was round Chris' (Kellys) last night playing with a new piece of kit. I'm sure Chris will explain later today Smile

I picked up the Indigos to try and home for a few weeks.

I feel a visit to Lightwater coming on! Winker

Interesting that your immediate reaction is so positive. I have asked JN if I could borrow them after you have got the ones you are bound to buy!

Graham,

My original reply was going to simply be zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZ but on further reflection...

I see you're using Chord's Signature speaker cable. I have heard this sound good on a Naim amp once only and in a very odd system indeed. I wonder if you'd get better results on a pure Naim system (albeit Chorded) with EPIC Super Twin which I feel times more like Naim kit does?

Also, since you're on about using a complete Chord 'loom', how about also using Chord's IEC cables?

Regards,
Frank.

I don't get the zzzzzzzzzzz comment. The music seems very involving and bobs along quite nicely.

I will swap back to hiline later and see what changes.

Indigo is a viable alternative to the Hi-Line and if you do a search back a while, you'll see that Joe Silva and I had good results within his system (Joe's Knackered thread I think), particularly when replacing the standard interconnects between his 552PS and 500.

Kind regards,

Peter

I remember those discussions. When I tried Indigos previously I exchanged some messages with Joe too.

This subject always seems to invoke very strong reactions from some. Almost as fanatical as the Naim speaker threads Smile

I am enjoying what the Indigos are doing. It will be a very interesting few weeks playing with them.

Graham,

Sorry, my zzzzz comment was meant to be facetious...

Seriously, have you considered using the whole Chord loom with their Power Chord?
