I find that music is the great escape mentally. It can set a mood and it can give you a wonderful fantasy life, colors and sounds swirling around in your head.

You can have it alone or with others and just about any time. And it's definitely emotional too.

Just a few thoughts.

I thought long and hard before I bought my Naim system last year ........ since then I have not regretted a penny spent on it. But I have decided to resist the desire to upgrade and refuse to go into the shop I bought it from! Big Grin

yes, my system xerxes 10/upgrade plinth/artimiz/dv20x/xps5/dsu/52/super/snaxo2.4/hicap/4 x 135/sbls.

my reason is that when i go to a live concert and then come home to play my system it always left me disappointed.

i thought long and hard about this and decided that no amount of money would ever make a hi-fi sound like a live concert.

so i decided to downgrade my system keeping the xerxes and sbls but changing the amps for an 82/hicap/250. the 250 being a chrome bumper serviced model.

this system now gets me close to what i had before and im left with a shed load of money in the bank, as a value for money system this rocks and i have no regrets whatsoever.

I couldn't have articulated it like that but that's it.

Not really - if you can afford it, why not buy it?

Besides I have not spent *that* much money compared to a lot of people here... indeed I think my spending on music far, far exceeds what I spent on my hifi!

As they say, "if you keep visiting the barber's you'll end up with a haircut".
This forum can be just as risky (as Naim well know, I suspect)
