any of the power amps below a nap 250 (new or old) can power the pre section of naim amps (up to the 82 / 282) cheers

That sounds like a messy 'upgrade'. I'd wait until you can afford a 202/200 or similar pre/power combo.
The Nait5 should be easy to sell (or move into your second system).

Either of a NAP150 or NAP200 can power the pre-amp section of your Nait 5. The cabling set-up required for this is clearly stated in the Nait 5 manual but basically you connect a SNAIC4 between "Signal out B" of the Nait and the input socket of the NAP. You no longer connect the Nait to the mains, therefore I assume the power-amp section of the Nait will no longer work.
