Edouard,

Great stuff! Look forward to seeing photos of your ever expanding Naim empire in due course. And a report on what benefits this vast expenditure has brought to your system.

That Peter one is a bit of a star, eh?

I don't know if Peter is a star, but I do think he is a really nice person doing all he can to help people, no matter if he is doing business with them or not, he must be the kind of person you wish to have as a neibourg or as a friend Smile

I will post pictures of the system in due course. I will also report on the bebefits of my upgrades. The expense was not as big as you may think as i could sell privately my pretty new 252-SC2 and XPS2.

If it was not for the forum I would not have the very expensive system I have now! I strongly believe I could be very happy with an entry level system CD5i/Nai5i.
although the 552 is quite something...
...just awesome Big Grin

I'still have to upgrade my speakers Red Face

Are your NBL keeping you happy?

Regards,
Edouard

Edouard

Hilary says that to me all the time, along the lines of 'You're not looking at that bloody forum again, are you?'.

I had a CDi, 82, 250 and SBLs for about 8 years - start looking at the Forum and massive upgrading follows.

That said, I am continually astounded by my CDS3, 555PS, 552, 300 and SL2s. I think I'd struggle with a CD5i/Nait5i now, but if that's all I could have, that would be fine I'm sure.

Best regards

Nigel

I assembled a fraim last weekend and hat the same problem with the studs. The thread on a couple of studs was damaged and did not allow the spikes to be screwed on properly. Lukily there is a professinal metal workshop where I work. So, without having to bother any dealer, I had the studs replaced with stainless steel ones by the engineering guys. The originals are zinked only and not stainless steel.

However, I too believe it is ridiculous that this stuff is delivered with such faults given what it costs. Evidently the quality control on this particular product is scarce.

Nigel,

I'm not sure I would, depending on the room I guess.

What's Hillary's tone of voice saying that?
Anyway she is clever, isn't she!

I'm afraid you're perfectly right!

BTW welcome to the forum Pippo

Rackkit,

Most of the metal cups on mine were scratched/marked as well Frown
When I realised it I selected the most visible scratched ones in order to put those cups at the back of the Fraim's MDF shelves.

Pippo.
Just a word of warning. Stainless steel inserted into stainless steel (assuming Fraim thread is stainless) can often bind making removal/adjustment difficult at a later stage.
I'd try and get some originals just in case...

Ian

If Naim individually bagged the cups, I'm sure this would reduce this problem considerably. Sometimes I too have had to sort them and put marked ones to the rear!

I have mentioned this to them before and I'll do it again as obviously I can see it's not just me!

Best regards,

Peter

It all looks very nice - I hope the investment has been worth it.

What you need now is a 300 - so you can have three boxes either side!!

Nigel and Peter,

Mille merci for your kinds comments, it's always good to hear Smile
I don't know about the 300, new speakers will have to come first.
To tell the true I'm afraid to be underwhelmed with the 300, I mean it maybe an non event for me Red Face
555 head unit would probably bring so much more to the party!
...which doesn't mean i'll get one!

amicalemnt,
