Hi Kev, Welcome to the madhouse! I joined the Naim club only a few months back, and can advise you that the "entry" level kit of NAP 150x/NAC122x is brilliant value for money, and, though I was using a CD5x/Flatcap 2x power supply, there's no reason why it shouldn't sound great with your Cd5i. The kit can be picked up secondhand quite readily on fleabay, and represents even better vfm. Hope you get into the Naim sound, which is just about the music, and not the hifi, though, beware the dreaded upgraditis which soon strikes, (I speak from experience here!). Get hold of the 122x/150x, chill out and enjoy!

Try a Nait 5i and a 122x/150x. Adding the likes of a 200 to a CD5i is getting things the wrong way round. A CD5x/Nait 5i will be better than a CD5i/122x/150x. Nigel

Thanks for all the comments i purchased the CD5i to replace my Arcam cd73t with the result i required..
I'm now concerned that if i change to the 122x/150x combo that my Spendors will be under-powered

Yes, that is correct. Thats why I asked if you had demoed any better Naim CD players. With a 200 your probably going to need one, along with a 202! Julian

If it were my money I'd be leaning towards a Nait5i. The Nait5i has tremendous synergy with the CD5i, really allowing it to perform at it's best. The CD5i is a cracking little player but the higher Naim amplification will expose its weaknesses. I would always prefer Nait5i with a better source than a CD5i with better amplification. Regards, Steve O.

Yes, but even so...
Get a naim amp to go with you're CD5i!
This will be better than getting a CD5x going through the Arcam.

Nice choice.
You can always leverage them to get a s/h 202/200 later.
Are you using NACA5?
