My son is threatening to buy some jap equipment. Also to his credit he wanted to steal my NAIT1/A7s from the bedroom. This got me thinking about buying a basic NAIM system for him. I have a 42 going spare so an amp (90/110/140) would seem a cheapish choice, as would NAIT2/3. We have also seen a NAIT5('01) for about 2 1/2 times a 90/3 also seen for sale.I know there would be a visual mismatch with the 90/3.
Would anyone care to comment on these options, sound wise and for future options?

Regards

Howard

Ah kids! Our approach was to ket ours have her own system as long as she stayed away from ours. Your son might be careful with his stuff. Our daughter (in her late teens) used to pretty much destruct use it - so we never laid out huge sums in that direction.

Cheers

We have bought a NAIT5. Any signs that he (nearly 22) is abusing it and it goes into our bedroom and he can have the NAIT1.
I am hoping at some time if he ever manages to leave education and get a job that I might get some recompense. I can live in hopes.

You wait. He'll now develop a taste for jazz and opera. Played loud late at night.
