Has anyone else found that InfoPop has become InfoPoop again?

Slow responses, 'not available' messages, etc...

Hi Paul,

I'm sorry, but the numbers don't convince me as they are. It would be more interesting to compare them to the statistics of the old forum, but even then I wonder if you would get the complete picture.
I for myself still think with nostalgia about the old forum window with the three sections: left the threads (you could see all the subjects (music and hifi) in one glance), top right the thread itself and down right the messages of the thread. Simple and very user friendly! The other feature I really miss is the "stay informed per e-mail" option which allowed you to be informed per e-mail about the follow up of a thread to which you had contributed.

Ciao!

Willem

P.S. Still happy the forum exists though!

... I'd look at these stats and commission "The Vuk and Arie show."

Clearly I'd have editorial control, dumb down the content and sell the whole thing to a national audience whilst alienating the original supporters who identified the original potential.

Topics will include:-

- Vuk shows how to set up a Sony midi system
- Arie's two minute guide to 'music to sign alimony cheques to'
- Vuk interviews Barenakedladies whilst smiling
- Arie recipe for today - a cake that looks just like a CD - updating the classic beatles album cover for the new millenium.
- Celeb system spot, Vuk and Arie interview Bill Gates and discuss the audio benefits of MP3 over old technology - like a P9
- There has to be a sick pet in the line up somewhere - perhaps one that got well listening to 'his masters voice' on the latest Sony memory stick - which he can also fetch and carry!
- Also, what system fits the decor of the modern house, a guest spot by Mike H showing how to rosewood veneer your CDX and add a pelmet to your rack!

Next week - gardening. The latest boy band releases to play to your plants.

Has anyone got the number for CBS?

Jonathan ,

Most of my palnts are in my aquarium - many times I listen to music and stare at the poor fish and plants that can't hear the music.

Martin ,

I think the site works very good (I realy do)- but I understand that you have problems, I chacked and found the problem: the fuse at your computer is in the wrong direction.

Arie, its not me! I don't mind the forum, it works - kinda.

Anyway, my computer's fuses have been individually aligned with performance measured with SPEC-INT. Also my main leads have been fully aligned and chosen with respect to the grooviness of the fan noise and tightness of the monitor's picture.

Next week I am upgrading to a Shun Mook office chair and then I'm off to have a long, long rest....

My plant lives on music. I always forget to water it, yet it keeps on growing. It 'deflects' vibrations from my left 'speaker - insulating the rack from vibrations. Useful.

It's the second biggest thing in the room, second to the hi-fi.

Tonight I'm unplugging my TV and putting it in storage. This means I can move my plant to where it can boogie even more - and it will get more music because I won't be watching s**t on the TV.

This radical anti-TV idea came from thinking carefully about setting up a DVD and processor add-on a la Jonathan Gorse. Solution to low quality TV sound? Bin the TV!!

Probably only possible when "Never mind the Buzzcocks" is not on.

Jonathan

Audio killed the video, pah.

I love the TV show ideas, and I'm looking forward to doing that guest spot. Coincidentally, I was just talking with Tony Leadman, V.P. of Television Distribution for MGM Canada, regarding which MP3 player he should buy (all bad, except for portability). Maybe he could arrange an interview with the decision makers. wink Catch you later!

Jonathan ,

I have a dvd and now I'm sorry i bought it.
The cables are going to give a full surround sound so you don't have to have a processor. I use my dvd in stereo mode only and find it good eanough.
I also found that naim are right and there is no need to locate a "center" speaker.
