With the grilles on, the bass is fuller (more midbass) and slower, the highs are not as extended and tansients much slower. Not surprising so far!!! What is surprising in brightness, fowardness and markedly more midrance presence in a glaring way. Wonder why? The clears up when the grills are removed. Any ideas what is going on here?

My guess is that the grilles are filtering frequencies that are needed to balance the spectrum. When they are lessened, other frequencies seem more extreme.

Are the Dynaudios designed to run with the grills on or off? My Albions are supposed to have the grills on, and the are quite harsh with them off. Catch you later!
