I am breaking in a new cable (mana stealth) from the cd player to the preamp by leaving the cd player running continously for 12-15 hour per day.

Does this harm the cd player in any way.Is it possible to over heat the laser? Is there any possibility of damaging the cd player in any way?

I have run my CD player constantly for weeks during compenent burn-in periods and I think this is a common practice with many users.

It would be interesting to know from Naim the avarage working life of the mechanical elements however - the servo and motor etc.
