dD is an excellent resource that NANA has, and with the two Chris's solidify the reputation that Naim has in the USA. I had him spend a day and night chez moi about 10 years ago when I moved my 6-pack DBLs to the new abode and needed a tweeter replaced.
He also managed to service a Hicap and have it back to me within 72 hours of me shipping it, and in addition and has worked flawlessly on my 42, 42.5s, 52/supercap, 135s, 110, 140 etc.
Hear he is a pretty mean musician too!

Well he put me on the right path. And we were able to eliminate the buzz on power-up, as normal operation, when not using a PSU.
He thinks the hum/ground loop originates at the DAC and its lack of correct earthing, as Naim requires.
When the CDX arives next week, I will be able to determine for sure if it is my lack of correct earthing, or if I have a problem with the 180s preamp power supply.
At the very least, my source, especially if it is the only one, requires a 3-prong mains cord. Of course a Naim source will satisfy this requirement, and also will ensure proper earthing.
If that does not fix it, then something must be going on in the 180. If so I will send to NANA for a "once-over".
But he wants me to try to fix it with a CDP first, in order to save me from unnecessarily spending money to have them look at it.
This guy is great.

Seconded...they really are the cream-of-the-crop. All three of these guys played an important part in my choosing Naim with their commitment and excellence in servicing the customer. I really couldn't imagine NaimUSA without any one of them.

Dave is the kind of world class dude most audio distributors can only dream of hiring.
I've know the people at NANA since 1989. The two Chris's and the rest of the people in Chicago kick ass. They truly are the best Audio distribution company in the US.
Maybe Sumiko comes close - the other first tier dudes are a few steps behind. Naim UK is VERY lucky to have people of this caliber representing the brand.
On behalf of NANA (NaimUSA): Thanks guys! For almost 22 years now we've been doing our best to help you all get the most out of any system you have desired to put together ... and we're going to keep on doing what we're known for, with all the great new products Naim is offering up this year!
Dave has been working with us since 1990 now ... and he is most certainly a very valued member of NANA's support team! (he's possibly too embarrased to post on this thread though

All I can say is, this guy is AWESOME. Very smart, very articulate, extremely helpful.
If ANYONE is planning ANYTHING, talk to him first. He can save you alot of headaches. Especially if your closest dealer is 4 hours away.
Agreed. My opinion is that David Dever is the most knowledgable and helpful guy that I have encountered in the Naim world, bar none. My experience with him goes back seven or so years. Definitely a top shelf guy.
