Hi Thomas. This is what they have on the Naim Audio product history page: 1975 Introduced 1980 New Case 1989 New Look 2002 Upgraded and New Look Is that what you're after, or do you need more detail? J

the chrome bumper 250 changed from holder and fischer (sp?) transformer to a different one. Some claim that the older one is better, but...
I dont know of any changes after that.

Mains and XLR sockets were changed during CB era. Did they do a bolt together case one with the transistors on the back ala 160?

Jon I'm pretty sure the first olive 250 came in with H&F...IIRC it was in 1991-92 H&F went down..

at first, thank you all. I try to update my 140 to a sh 250. I have a offer of a chrome bolted one. So i look for the details. I read that there were any changes during the time ( new transistors/ circuit layout/ transformators ).
Maybe that one of the moderators of naim can help.
best regards tom

chrome bolted will be a very early one -- best check with Naim HQ that they can service it still

The Holden&Fisher transformer change happened later than the CB look, my Olive 135's have H&F transformers.

Best to listen to it. I have had a few 250's in my system and have also auditioned a few. What I can say for sure is that the more recent models sounded better. This could of course be co-incidence at work.
Best of luck in your search, believe me, it will be well worth it.

No problem servicing any vintage of NAP250, even the earliest "bolt together" variety.
There have been lots of detail changes throughout the life of the NAP250, too many to list here but you might wish to check out an article that appeared in an early issue of HIFI+ where Paul Messenger covered the important ones.
The Holden & Fisher transformer was replaced with the Nuvotem one (Nuvotem took over H&F) around 1993.
