Hi
The best starting point for your TT would be the Rega Elys 2. 3 fixing points for optimal alignment and no spacers req. It also depends what you are using it with. The Rega mm's have a very high output so selective matching with a phonostage is important too. ATB John |

As above unless you can afford an Exact. Not only will it sound good but it can be fitted with your eyes closed, though this should be done by a Rega dealer using the correct torque driver.

How about MC for Rega P9+RB1000?

The world is your oyster. What about the Rega Apheta ? Same comments as above - sounds great and can be fitted with minimal fuss.
It depends on your budget but take a listen to the ZYX R50 and R100 plus Lyra Dorian and Argo i, as they all work well. |

Hallo, Regarding matching with a phono stage, can "Stagelin 'N'" (2mV/47Kohms) suitable for "Rega-Exact" (Output: 6.6~7.2mV)? Thanks Randy |

Hi Randy,
Regarding the Stageline, no reason for this to be an issue due to the loading but as all rega cartridges have a high output, volume control will need less gain which is good. Alternatively, consider the rega phono or a Dynavector P-75. ATB John |

Peter,
By refusing to place a spacer under the arm, you are seriously reducing your options. It's very easy to do and most of the time it'll be your dealer who does it and the spacer itself is very cheap, so I don't see why you should restrict yourself to such a few options. Almost all cartridges are taller than Rega's own. Without knowing your budget, it's going to be difficult. The P7 can take any Rega cartridge up to the Apheta. It's good enough for any of them. Recently I had excellent results on a P7 with a Goldring 2500 but once again, it needs a spacer! Regards, Frank. All opinions are my own and do not reflect the opinion of any organisations I work for, except where this is stated explicitly. |

Are these cartridges(ZYX R50 and R100 plus Lyra Dorian and Argo i)of the same hight as rega cartridges?

All cartridges are higher than a Rega so you will need a spacer. ATB John |

Apheta will work really well if you have the right phono-stage. I doubt you'll find a better cartridge for a Rega arm.
I think most well made cartridges give a decent performance. If not Apheta then my choice would be Dynavector (model according to budget), but you'll need a 2mm spacer. Though I wouldn't go above the DV20XL with a P7, although it can handle a better cartridge I think an additional money could be better spent making improvements elsewhere. |

Hallo, Regarding "Rega-Apheta" (Input load impedance 100 Ohms, Output impedance 15 Ohms and Output voltage 500uV)can it work with "SuperLine"? But at 500uV this is a maximum for the SuperLine. Thanks Randy |

Hi Randy I'm sure it'll work, but you may want to audition against a new Rega IOS stage when this available, as I understand it's optimised for the Apheta. That said my DV-P75 is optimised for DV cartridges, but the SuperLine still outperformed it using a DV20XL by some margin IMHO. So it may be the same with the Apheta. I heard the Apheta in a nearly all Rega system and as a system is sounded superb: P9/Apheta/Cursa/Mira/Totem ARO. ATB Rotf |
