I thought it would be fun to share with those in the Corner a review of what I learned from various contributors over the past year or so.
I am sorry to say I don't recall the authors, but I truly did get the messages.

One of the biggest surprises was the result in having an electrician install a dedicated line. That change in dynamics and clarity really set my wife and me on the upgrade path.

The MDF, ball bearing, and nut shelving was next. My version sustituted glass marbles for the ball bearings. We liked the sound. Of a sudden everything was mounted on MDF and marbles. For a while.

We changed the speaker cable from Linn's grey whatever to the new Naim wire. A big window opened with that change.

With that speaker wire change we went from a bi-wi-wiring of our Sara-9 to bridging the sockets at the back of the speakers. Acually I silvered soldered additional bayonets on the speaker wire.
Holy smoker, now our system was really beginning to sound more like it.

We went from a 110/42.5, cyrus dad7, through various stages to our present 180,82,cdx/xps, plus the LP12 which we had all along. All this within 15 months.

None of the upgrades would have occurred without the various suggestions and ideas appearing in the Corner.

Currently I am wrestling wether or not to keep Lovan stands (as furniture if nothing else) until I sort out what stands we will settle on. I think our next move is to a 250 and a second hi-cap.

So thank you, especially those who helped bring real music into our home.

Vuc I am what I say I am. For too long I earned my living washing windows, scrubbing floors, cleaning out toilets etc. I also went to the big school and came away with three degrees much later in life. The names I use are names I was Christened with. That I use hotmail does not make me a troll. A am sorry you broadcast your alert without pursuing your concern with me directly.

Nothing in this world is perfect. Neither our equipment, nor least of all us as individuals.

Respond to me. Life is to short to screw around this way.

Fred
