Hi
I am looking at buying a second hand rega 3 witht the rb300 arm and the rega Elys (the purple one)cartridge.
I have the Nap90 with no phono boards, could anyone tell me which boards I should be looking for?
How long would a cartridge last for as this one has 80 hours use?

The NAP90 is a power amp. To identify the correct phono boards we need to know the Pre-amp model.

The Rega cartridges are all MM types so it it will probably be a 522 or a 322.

I guess you mean a 92? pre-amp. The phono cards are all shown here -
Naim '96 web-site archive
you'll need the type N for the MM Elys cartridge

If it's a PLANAR (rather than P)3 - which will mean it'll have a lifetime transferrable guarantee, take it to the dealer for a once-over, a new belt, and a look-see at the cartridge. Just because a seller says it has 80 hours, doesn't make it so. A dealer can check the stylus and confirm condition.

Planar3s are damn good VFM - had mine (second hand) since 1998 and it's been a trooper Smile
