Hi All,
It's me again. Maybe I'm a bit 'overproductive' these days but this is probably because I'm playing with my new Naim kit so much. I feel such a rich and lucky bastard with those greenish boxes smiling at me every evening! smile Sorry If I become irritating...

Does anybody have a picture or something of the NAPSC power supply?? I know this is a PSU for the lights, buttons and motorised volume control of Naim pre-amps (right?). It's mentioned on the Naim price list and from what I've been told it's a 'must do' upgrade for my 102 together with a Hi-Cap (heard that one, fantastic).

My question is, what kind of PSU is this? As far as I know it's not housed in a Hi-Cap kind of case but I've never seen the d.mn thing! It isn't mentioned in Naims brochure(s) or on the website...

Can anybody help me with this ghost product? wink

Thanx!

'Overly verbose' Richard

I don't have a picture, sorry, but it's really not worthy of a photo. About the size of two cassette tapes side-by-side; black powder-coated steel (or is it alloy?), with cable entry and exit at one end. I think it might have a green led too, IIRC.

Generally best kept away from the kit, so at least you don't have to be worrying about rack space. I've not had a look inside mine, so dunno what the t/f or regulation is like inside. Single rail.

If you're wondering about it for your 102, worthwhile.

HTH.

Thanks in advance!

OK, I can't take you guys suffering, what with not knowing what a napsc looks like, so I removed the extruded alumin(i)um case on mine and took a picture.

Viola...

Please note that the oscilloscope is optional wink

Joe

P.S. It's a little black box about 15 x 10 x 3 cm, weighs about a kg and has a green LED on the back.

Stax,

I dunno. I just typed "electrical", "transformer" and "picture" into the google search engine and hit the links until I found something over the top.

It came from this site.

Hi,

That's one hell of a dimmer switch, or NAIM come up with a dimmer that doesn't affect the sound of their systems the NADS-01 (Naim Audio Dimmer Switch) not shown is the outboard PSU.

Joe / John, I've just been started at by some 20 head-nodding colleagues as I was quietly sitting behind my laptop and suddenly laughing out loud!... I never knew such funny audiophiles existed! Must have to do something with Naim. wink

Thanks for the replies guys! I'll try to upload a picture Timo has send me too. Note I did say TRY...

Matthew,
Those power cords are not looking like standard Naim items. What are they?

Richard.

Doddy,
I might be intersted but if I'm right you're in the UK and that means 110V. We have 220 V at 50 Hz in Holland. Won't work would it?

If is does work though;

- How old is it? (brandnew, always lived in the garage and used to be from your Granny ehh?... wink

- How much?

Richard.

Richard,

>> Those power cords are not looking like standard Naim items. What are they? <<

They are MusicWorks mains leads that (optionally) go with the MusicWorks mains block reviewed by Jason in HiFi+.

We run 240 VAC, 50Hz in the UK. It's supposed to be going a more Euro-friendly 230VAC in the future. So you should be in luck!

Hi Doddy,

Sorry to (re)use this thread for this but I tried to email you on raymonddodd-no-spam@ic24.net but I keep getting error-messages back (probably due to the no-spam part big grin ).

Do you still want to sell your NAPSC ?

Richard.
