If you are going to consider a Japanese deck, Technics make sense because parts and service are easier to obtain. ( at least in the US )
I find that obscure table from the past could be a fun restoration project for some, but sometimes it's more frustrating than their worth. |

Hi ROTF; The reason for this thread is that I don't have any experience with TTs and I'm curious and willing to get a starter TT. Sadly, I don't have a dealer that sells TTs locally. I'm wondering if there is something relatively cheap and can be setup by the end user. Thanks Regards... |

If you want something easy to set up you won't go wrong with a rega. They are great decks and I'm sure you can get them supplied with a cartridge fitted. Nigel |

Hi Flame
Given you are new to record players then Rega P1/Fono-Mini record player is supplied ready to use. [I would not recommend you use a DV cartridge given your requirements because you need to install a spacer to get it to work properly and if you are not familiar with TTs this will make it more awkward to install properly - please note DV cartridges are superb when installed] Otherwise if a Rega is not to your taste then a Technics SL1200. Good luck, Rotf |
