what amp do you use? Maybe the amp is swapping the phase meaning what you think is "normal" is in fact wrong

My amp is Sonus Faber Musica and speaker Sonus Faber too (EA2). Well anyway the phase in flatcap is right? and in cd it`s wrong? and then the sound is better.

Am I right in guessing that you are talking about the mains phase, because you are using two-pin plugs and you have to decide which way around sounds better?
Here in the UK we use three-pin plugs which can only be plugged in one way, so most people have no experience with this.
cheers, Martin

Back in the days when many CD players had non captive leads (maybe they still do, I dunno) there was much discussion on 'phasing' - reversing the orientation of the lead at the player. I know for a fact that my Marantz CD94 sounded right or wrong, depending on which way round the lead went in. With UK 3 pin plugs and captive leads I've never really been arsed to try it.
Cheers

I experimented the same problem with my CD5 & FC, my dealer told me that Naim main cable were inverting the phase, so I had to by an adaptator to corect the phase.
Anyway, you can check it yourself with a phase detector screw driver: plug the main cable to the sector and take the end to plug in the CD & FC, if the earth is downside (looks like a face, tow eyes and a nose) the phase should be in the left eye.
Hope this is understandable!

My dealer advise I change the phasing by putting the "opposite" plugs on one end of my cables into the speakers or perform this at the amp end, i.e red into black and vice versa. Is this at all related or am I completely off kilter????!! The amps used at the time were a Linn LK140/Kairn combo....
