Hi folk’s
I have with very much interest followed this forum in the past few month’s. Over the last decade I have owned several Naim, ranging from Nait 2 over 140/62 to Cdi/250/72/hicap/SBL. I have also tried several Linn/Royd/Epos loudspeaker’s, where the Kan II comes in mind as being one of the most revealing and involving, but I sold it (big mistake). I have a CD3.5 with a hi-cap. Just in case (anyone) you CAN stick a flatcap on :- Certainly the addition of a flatcap to a 3.5 makes a big difference. Dynamics - PRaT etc. BUT some of the "warmth" comes out of the presentation and it sounds much HARDER and ANALYTICAL at the same time - which for me destroyed some of the musicality. I found the hi-cap did all the good stuff with none of the drawbacks. Listened to with a Nait 3R and (umm) some speakers - Dynaudio c 2K GBP I think.
