I think they'll happily take £8.00 from you, on the door. The only other option is to try to pick up the latest 'Hi-Fi News' mag with a freebie ticket on the cover.

Not worth it if you live in Scotland but then again we've got the Scotish Hifi Show on 20-21 November
I've been at the show today. I thought it was worth going to, although I didn't enjoy it quite so much as Bristol. Maybe because it is on two sites, so it is not easy to keep revisiting rooms. The Naim rooms are in the Park Hotel, so I spent a lot of time there, and then nearly ran out of time to go back to look at some of the rest, and pick up some of the Naim label cd's at their desk over at the Renaissance. There was the usual mix of crash bang wallop AV stuff, which I personally am not very interested in, although the Naim AV room could change my mind about home cinima. For me, the best thing about this show was the chance to hear and see some very expensive and esoteric systems that I am highly unlikely to ever buy, therefore couldn't legitimately ask to demo at a dealers, but it's nice to hear anyway. The Sonus Faber / Copland room sounded good, as did the Exposure room, and the £29,000 Overkill speakers with Valve mono blocs / cd player sounded fabulous. In short, I enjoyed it, but it was pretty crowded.

I spent a couple of hours there today with by 5 year old daughter (who of course liked the AV systems that were playing cartoons and/or star wars)
The Naim AV dem was pretty good, although so much of the video bit is down to the TV itself. As far as I could tell it was as good or better than my Arcam AV88, and the speakers and amp were a lot better than my kit (no surprise there).
The Naim audio system (CDS3 ??? SL2s) was pretty punchy, although I can't see why Naim has dropped the nbls and pitched these at near the same price level when they just sound like "good sbls" to me, so maybe they should be £3K not £5.5K
Also liked the Musical Fidelity system including their new integrated amp.
btw I took my camera but was too busy chasing the 5 year old who kept running off to take piccies.

Some pretty bad boring noises around. Meridan just perched in the reception all the staff looked bored out of their brains buy hey its is Meridian kit. The Absolute sound dem is still worth the wait although not my bag. I was really impressed the the new cheap naim sats and sub which looks and sounds just great. I can see lots of sales for Naim with this kit in av and two channel rigs.
