Y E S !!!! I finally did it!

Yesterday I ordered my CDX/102/180 combo! My first ever Naim system. I just HAD to listen it one more time (had it at home to) and again it was soooo convincing.

On my way back home the title of my favorite song from the 'Bob till you drop' album by Ry Cooder came to mind although the other way around (the subject of this post).

Delivery should take a week or so. This is gonna be one very, very long week!

I am one happy guy...

Richard.

Congratulations Richard!

Your new equipment will make you very happy and will give you many hours of musical pleasure! Nice system!

I have been using NAIM gear for twelve years now and wouldn't have it any other way. My NAIM equipment has offered me many years of musical bliss!

Richard

Congratulations......this is the begining of many happy hours of listening for you.

I still have the 32.5 / 140 combo that I first bought many years ago and I still get the same pleasure out of it as I do with my 82/250 based system.

Main thing with this hobby.....forget about the technology and listen to the music and enjoy it.

I suspect I am slightly (well ok a lot) older than you and in my experience the best tweak to enhance the quality of the music is a large glass of malt whiskey. Once the bottle has dropped 3/4" everything sounds so so good.

Once again, congratulation on a good choice of hardware.......now switch off your bloody computer and get your CD's out.

Regards

Mick

Nice first system indeed! I know you just spent a lot of money but do make sure you have a good stand for the CDX, it makes a world of a difference.

Ah geez, just enjoy it man. Listen to all of your favourite songs over and over again. Dare I say just don't tell anyone what those songs are

BY FAR the best tweak Mick. No component or upgrade can compete with it. In fact, on my way back from the Naim dealer I passed a liquor store and bought a special bottle of Glenmorangie matured on Madeira casks! Really no joke!

Hell, at the end of the evening my old system sounded almost as good as the Naim gear I just bought!...

Hoi Richard,

Groet,

André

Hoi Andre,

When reading your profile, it seems like you enjoy very much Linn gears. I do myself too. My question is actually; did you go straight to your Klout or did you upgrade from any of the LK serie amplifiers?

I'm currently wondering about a second hand Klout to feed the ESL speaker. Woofer should stick to my current LK140.

Any comments? Should I go for a LK140+Klout or two LK140's or one single Klout? Two Klout's would be ideal but currently out of range.

Groetjes,

Ugo,

Sorry guys, last lines in Dutch!...

Hoi Andre,

Mijn dealer is CAC Audio in Leiden.

Richar

Well gee Ugo, good tip. Just look at the very first line of my post above. Don't exaggerate, only 2 little posts in Dutch for the fun of it...

My wife and I are very good friends with a couple, Leny the wife is Dutch. Needless to say the two children speak dutch too. One evening the children went with their father to church. The speaker spoke in German and was translated into English. When they got home Leny asked the children if they had enjoyed themselves. "yes" they replied, "but he does speak funny Dutch."

Anyway as we all know, German is just a Dutch dialect.

regards,

Mark

P.S. this is a joke!!!!!

Salut
