Yes the supercap will work fine. There are sonic improvements, mainly from the new feet as I understand it. I believe Naim are currently running an offer whereby if you buy a piece of kit (I think from 282/200 upwards) they will give a free facelift to a piece of olive kit, so this may be something to consider - at the very least it would made your supercap more saleable if you do change later.
Regards
Nigel

No it won't. The 252 uses a new Burndy configuration. If you use the old Burndy, some lights come on, but not much else. nick.lees at btinternet.com

What I meant to say was that the 1999 Supercap will work OK, using the burndy that comes with the 252.

Nigel, you believe it or you know it? :-) Where have you heard from it? Could anyone else confirm this offer? Regards, Hannes

I received the offer from audio excellence, but assume other dealers are offering this in conjunction with naim.
Regards Mike.

Mike Allen - You should find that it is a discounted charge - not free. Please check with your dealer.

Adam the letter i received from audio excellence (Cardiff)clearly states--- when you purchase a new naim product, starting with the NAC202 or NAP200 upwards, you will be given the oppurtunity to cosmetically upgrade one of your older power amplifiers or power supplies to the "new look" FREE of charge! saving you £395 for larger box products (old 250 supercap, xps etc)and £350 for smaller box products (hi-cap, 140, snaxo, etc). I have just quoted the text of the letter and cannot see that i have made a mistake, obviously i can e-mail you a copy of the letter if you require. Regards Mike.

What an image - a homicidal, axe-wielding cable! (Actually, I don't know how ted finished off his victims, but...). The correct Burndy cable should be supplied with the 252, and should work equally well with olive or reference style SC. The 52 will have been supplied with the Burndy, and the person who buys it will need it (grey-to-black upgrades excepted). cheers, Martin E-mail:- MartinPayne (at) Dial.Pipex.com. Put "Naim" in the title.

Could the Administrator please provide clarity on this please. I am upgrading a number of components this autumn (CDX arrived, XPS on order, demo of 252 to be arranged) Does this mean I can have three pieces of olive kit facelifted free of charge?

My letter from Audio T was exactly the same as that quoted by Mike, and said clearly that the upgrade was free (Audio T and Audio Excellence are part of the same company?). I understand the offer is time limited, so maybe Rich should get his skates on.

I stand entirely corrected - it seems that that is the offer your dealer has extended and I hadn't heard about it until Monday lunch when the rest of the office got back from London. All enquiries should be made through your dealer as terms may vary (from what I know).
