Now I'm not sure what is responsible for this ...is it the clean air, lush pastures, crystal clear water, the sporting life....anyway surely not Hobbits.

It is clear that the ultimate upgrade, the path to Audio nirvana comes from New Zealand.....what we all need is a New Zealand wife!!

Let me explain LoFiSi and Mrs LoFiSi hail from those parts and she is proof positive of this.

LoFiSi really liked the SBL's and wanted a pair, after a short while he was able to purchase them only for Mrs LoFiSi to reveal that she had been planning to buy them for his birthday!!

She heard the CDS3 with us and remarked it was stunning etc so ... (watch this space)

I realsie my sample size is limited to 1 but I vote the NZ wife as the ultimate upgrade Big Grin

Malcolm

This is indeed, splendid news. Most women seem to be deaf.

There's a great marketing opportunity here for Hi-Fi dealers to operate a dating agency for ladies from New Zealand.

A 'home dem' arrangement would really catch on I reckon.

Happy listening, with the one you love.

John.

This is great to know because I'm going there in December for a month so are there any particular hunting grounds for this most rare of upgrades?
I'd prefer the non-tatooed version so any pointers would be appreciated and an appreciation for bespectacled balding ugly men is also desirable.
I thank-you.

I'm not going to get involved with this. However, I must contest John's claim about most women being deaf - I reckon it is just that they are far less gullible than males and don't say they can hear a difference when in reality it is all fakey farts (CDS3 excepted - it really was rather good - Julie thought the ~5k price tag was not too bad until I pointed out that it needed a PS as well... Doh!).

So NB, I guess you prefer the "active" upgrade to the "passive" one then?

Talking about age: This week, I've seen Archie Shepp (75ish) and Amina Claudine Myers (60ish) in concert. Both of them "rayed" in/with beauty. Probably a mixture of the excellence in music that they did and the life experience. Anyway, currently spinning one of my last years favorites: "Left alone revisited" by Shepp and Waldron.

What do you listen to, kuma ?

Best regards, freundliche Grüße

Stefan
