Hi folks,

man, sometimes a man can get lucky. Just yesterday
I bought myself a s/h Nait-2, in mint condition,
for only 125 UKP! No stains or scratches at all.

Now, I allready had a Nait-2, but it was an old-style one. So, I bought the new one because it
looked better with my CD-3.5 and...I found out that the volumepot it of much better quality.
Now, my left/right balance is also good at low volume. And I was thinking that every Nait had this problem. (gonna sell my old Nait-2)
Well, that's about it really, nothing spectaculair, just a guy who got so happy with
his biggest bargain of the last ten years!
So, no questions or problems from me this time.

O, BTW, I just read an article in HN&RR about a
brandnew Pro-ject turntable that was a serious
thread for the Rega budget ones. The new Pro-ject
looked absolutely georgeous! (Oval, with a thick
platter) It looked very pricey too, but costed only 300 UKP.

OK, that's all folks

See ya'

Alco, A second Nait2 ? one can never have too much of a good thing.

I have my old Nait2 lying in my wife's dresses closet, waiting patiently for a bedroom system or whatever, it's just such a waste selling it for peanuts, I'd rather give it to a friend.

Omer.

Please give it to me then so that I can forget the fact that my ex-girlfriend has the one I gave her.

I think the Nait2 is safer in Shelly's closet, who knows whom you'll give it to next.

Who knows where's your old nait now ???? The poor thing, staying with her and all the rif-raf, it might have caught some STD.

Omer.

I know exactly where it is and worse than STD, the poor little Nait routinely has Bruce Springsteen inflicted on it by an old, rich, divorced guy. Well, perhaps I can enjoy the sort of revenge plotted by the Vicomte de Valmont. Given that the little "child" I planted is alive and kicking, you could say I've done a better job of it.

Add my Nait2 just given to my girlfriend and that makes three.

I was just wondering how many Nait2 have been given to wives and girlfriends after a system upgrade.
I think that everyone falls in love with such a cute amp, so no one wants to give it away even after a 500/52 upgrade.

Alco
congrats, just in case you will buy a better amp, you will have two spare Nait2's for your girlfriend/wife and another lover as well

wink

Stefano.

The old joke was that Julian designed the original Nait as a cheap solution to putting up with shite systems when visiting lady friends. What's funny is that this was a large part of my motivation/thinking when I purchased the Nait 2 (I already had 102 or 82 at the time, so it wasn't me giving up an old integrated). The best/worts part is how, shortly after the break-up, she extorted money from me to finance the acquisition of a CD3.5! wink

I wish I could buy a Nait 2 for most people that I visit. Everyone seems to have a bloody Sony mini-thingi these days, even all of my wealthy neighbours--especially all of my wealthy neighbours.

Haha, Stefano

You got a point there. But...I don't have a wife/girlfriend. My experience is that most women
don't give a .... about quality music reproduction. But.. If I ever find a girl who
does she'll get my Nait-2 as soon as the upgradebug has bitten me.
(but only if she'll treat my little Naity right!)

Until then, it's all mine and I'll treasure it.

Would now be the time to mention the Nac 72 + phono boards I purchased last month from a dealer for £199?

Stuart,

You didn't pay a lot because the dealer made money out of collecting Nait 2 from several ex-girlfriends.

Joe,

I must tell you that after 3 divorces, if I could
separate from my ex-wives by giving each of them
a Nait 2 .... I could be a rich person now...

I have a NAIT 1 bought new in 1983. The serial number would suggest it is number 11 off the production line so they don't get much older than that!.

It still sounds great but was replaced by a NAIT3 when I got too many source components.

They are TOO GOOD for girlfriends, only blood relatives will do. My kids wanted a music system and rather than buy plastic rubbish they now use it with a Technics CD for source and some old JBLs. They will eventually also get my (equally old) KANs.

Steve,

As far as I can remember, the Nait 2 was to my ears a huge huge jump ahead compare to the Nait 1, realy a great improvement - much higher than the improve of Nait 3 upon nait 2 (not to mention those who think that the Nait 2 is a better amp than the Nait 3 .
