I am aware of various commercial room correction systems that apply DSP [digital signal processing] to the signal between the pre-amp and the power-amp. They take the output of the pre-amp, convert it to digital [ADC], make corrections to the digital signal and then convert the signal back to analogue [DAC].
I wonder could I do this with a PC .. my idea is to copy a CD onto the PC, run some programs to make corrections/changes to the digital data file and then write it back out to CD and play the modified file. There would be no need to do the corrections in real time [they could run overnight in batch mode]. Does anyone know of any programs, discussion groups etc that deal with this sort of topic? I have a dual boot PC with Windows-XP and RedHat-Linux. Thanks James H. |

I cant say I would want my music processed in such a manner.
But I would start with hydrogenaudio.com if I did. |
