Does anyone on the forum have any experience with Dynaudio 62? Can they be placed within 30cm of the rear wall? I’ll demo them this weekend and want to instill some preconceived notions beforehand.
Thanks Jim |

I have some experience but I'll totally avoid a direct answer by saying that the distance from the wall will depend on the room and the amp controlling them.
Say, if you had a 90 power amp (i.e. a little under powered) they would be further out from the wall than say with a 250. Also a wooden room is going to need more clearance than a concrete bunker. What's your situation?? |

Joe90 is spot on. In our 15x13 room we can place the back of the speaker within a foot of the rear wall - and a Nait5i can drive them quite well in that scenario. However, they do sound a little less bass heavy if pulled out a bit further. I prefer them a bit further out, but one of my colleagues prefers them a bit closer, so there you go. Whatever, thanks to the front port, you don't get insane results when putting them close to the wall.
Regards, Frank. All opinions are my own and do not reflect the opinion of any organisations I work for, except where this is stated explicitly. |

Thanks for your feedback. It sounds like a worthwhile demo.

Hello,
All Dynaudio Audience speakers also come with foam port plugs to use in situations like this. Make sure the dealer has them available to try - also you must listen to the 52SE - that would be my choice in a speaker at this approx price point from Dynaudio. Bryan |

I always think that foam ports 'choke' the sound - I don't know why but I'm personally not a fan.
