Hi all,
A few weeks ago I bought a one year old NAC 102. According to the previous owner it comes with phonoboards (MC). As I don't have a turntable at the moment, I don't use them. Is it worth removing the boards? If so, how does it work? Can I do it myself or do I have to let my dealer do it? Ciao! Willem |

If you can get the case open (the hard part), then removing the boards is a no brainer. You'll see them sitting in there, and you just pop them out.

When I tried to remove my phono cards from a 102 into a 82 I had to call NaimUSA. Chris West followed me with telephone instructs. You must slightly pinch the white binding posts to remove the boards and then carefully align them in the receiving preamp to make sure they make the full and proper contact points.
Best to have a dealer to do, if possible. |

Thanks Mike & Clifton,
Having just read Richard's very positive experience with the NAPSC I think I'll order a new NAPSC from my dealer and ask him if he can remove the Phono boards at the same time. I haven't told him yet that I bought the one year old NAC 102, Hicap, NAP 180 and I'm sure he won't be too happy I didn't buy it from him, but that's life. That's the problem when you're friends with your dealer. Ciao! Willem |
