I have just purchased a second hand olive XPS for my CDX, I will in due course also purchase a extra shelf for my Hutter rack, but in the short term would standing the XPS on its side in between my rack and the wall do it any harm? Or should i change my rack around to accomadate the XPS and place something else on the floor? My rack order is from top to bottom:
Nac 82 CDX 2xHicap Nap 250 the 2 X napsc is on the floor as far away as possible and the headline is on top of the pre. Any advice to help me for the short term will greatfully received. Also when I have the extra shelf, which would be my best performing stack? thanks Steve |

Steve,
Not sure about now (will the XPS go on top of the 250?). But ultimately... 82 CDX Headline 250 XPS 2xHC --------- 2xPSC This gets the o most number (2xHC) and biggest (XPS) transformers at the bottom; the headline on its own creates almost a gap; and Naim pre-amps really LOVE being on top and with nothing surrounding them, where they give great performance. I used the XPS2 standing on its side on the floor for several years without mishap. I really could't tell a difference between that and putting it on a Fraim, immediately beneath a 552 head unit.
