Hi,
I remember another rack manufacturer a few years back was big on having a number of racks under each component stack. I remember some M*** members posting comments along the lines that it started getting interesting at phase 4. I suppose that extra decoupling from the floor and room vibrations would have benefits. I've seen photos of upwards of 10 layers underneath an LP12. Has anybody here had any experiences along similar lines with Fraim? Don't ask me to to try myself , because I'm still saving for my first stack for my LP12. Here in Aus , Fraim is quite rare and hard to do demos. I'm curious as to whether Fraim exhibits similar benefits with a number of empty racks under equipment. Does anybody round here for example have their LP12 or other gear sitting 2,3,4 or more phases of empty Fraim? cheers, Brendan |

Hi Brendan
I've not experimented in this area myself, but as a frequent "lurker" here, I can tell you that the received wisdom is that pre amps and CDPs both benefit from having an empty rack beneath them. My perception has always been that this was more to do with the increased physical distance & thus reduction in electrical interference from from "noisy" components in power supplies etc., rather than an incremental isolation from vibration through multiple layers of spiked shelves. I seem to recall that Geoff P has experimented extensively in this area & posted his results on the subject - might be worth running a search for his posts? J |
