I thought the Naim kit sounded quite good really, considering it was a show and the room etc.... The picture from the DVD5 was good also.
I was well impressed with the sub, and the fact you can plug more than one item into it and it can then have presets etc - rang a bell re poss plugging in the main hifi for it to assist the sl2's, as well as the av stuff...
I liked the Wharfdale demo - they used the Jet Li region 3 DVD of 'Hero' in dts, and it sure did shake the floor, and also had good channel steering
Denon were demoing their latest DVD player with a new chip in it... and the pictures it was generating were really good.
The show itself is not anywhere near as big as Bristol, but it served our purpose as Shelley and i were also looking at TV's - either LCD or plasma, and it served as a narrowing down proces of sorts re appearance.

I quickly went to the Novotel show. It was my first time to a What Hi-Fi/Stuff show, so wasn't sure what to expect.
Not much in the way of Hi-Fi demos, much more in the way of laptops, PDAs, mp3 players and widescreen TVs.
The Naim demo was very interesting, significantly beating the similar demo at the Heathrow this year. The Peter Gabriel compilation DVD (Play) was excellent.
The new Sony Viao's look nice too (not as good as the NEC laptops though )

In the TV stakes, my wife liked the look of the Phillips 32" LCD, and she also liked the looks etc of the Naim speakers. Result! Oh she also liked how they sounded LOL
