Dear Forum Contributors,

I understand that I am not the only one to experience to much bass from my Credos. I don´t blame the speakers though, I´ve heard them in other rooms than mine, and they work fine. I guess my room is just complicated acoustically. However, I read sometime on this forum (I think) about modifying the Credos by placing an SBL rubber seal between the boxes. Anyone having experiences from this? If so, did you secure it with any kind of silicone? I guess that the speakers overall performance will be compromised, but how much? Any comments from Naim?

Best wishes
Sven )

Not a good idea with the sealant!Do you have a wooden floor? if so try screwing cross head screws into the floor(very carefully) and then place the speakers spikes directly onto the screw heads(you must get them lined up and correctly and LEVEL. If not can you not move the speakers further into the room or away from corners?

I do have wooden floors. The Credos are on paving slabs, and the paving slabs are on blue tak on the floor. I have moved them away from corners as much as I can. Moving them out into the room (as muchg as 100 centimeters) makes no difference.

Never liked the slab approach, the screw heads clean things up much better,is this in an all Naim system, cables etc>

Dear Sven,
I have my Credo's activated and backed up within 1 inch of the wall sitting atop cross headed screws. The bottom end is now full and fairly tight but I found that the speakers needed careful setting up - but once done they really sing. You may have gone through this already so forgive me if I'm telling you something you already know. First get a metal ruler and ensure that your spikes are all the same length ( I have my front spikes slightly longer than the back ) then get some thick card and place the speaker on it to create a template with 4 holes. Then use the template to position the screws. If you have a small spirit level then use that to make sure that the screw tops are level. It's a long job as you only need to be a fraction out and the whole thing wobbles. Get black chipboard screws and watch out for the suspension at the back of the Credos as it can seem as though you've got movement when it's just the suspension flexing.
Steve.
