The complete opposite of "rega 1" nice minimal set-up on the previous page, but here's the same system in my place with the PMC TB2+'s...

Please note NACA5 is now safely installed in place of the lousy old QED Purple you see in the picture!

Excellent Mr. Lehman.

I wish I had more space for vinyl, and CD's. All that must go in a separate area, unfortunately....

Your set-up looks very good indeed Mr Lehman.

But it looks like your room is pretty big to me?
I wish i had that kind of space.

Just wanted to add something else in the mix....Has anybody had any experience with Dynaudio speakers(Focus 110) or Even the little Proac Tablette Ref 8??

Keep the good advice coming..thanx!

Well, it's about 5m x 4m. A look at all the rooms in the System Pics thread tells me it's a lot smaller than most!

I really do like that shelf, was it custom made?
And i take it that you must leave your amp and C-D player on all the time?....all in the quest for a better sound.

I have a set of Dynaudio Audience 42's upstairs on stands. They are a great bookshelf unit, though they do not sound like a bookshelf speaker. They have a lot of power to fill the room with great sound. They will definitely grunt if you pour the power to them. Great speaker, fast, and nice bass.

Mr. Lehmann will more than likely answer you as I will. Power on all the time to keep them warmed up, and unplug them when you are on a long vacation (holiday), or there is a thunder storm.

For 2½ years I've been feeding a pair of Dynaudio Focus 140 with CD5i+Nait5i. I'd say it's an excellent combination for the money and works well also in pretty large rooms. The bass is amazing for a compact standmount loudspeakers and should go well with your taste of music. Check out Wes Phillips' article in Stereophile (May 2006):

Yes - built to measure around the Panasonic TV. Made out of 19mm MDF - simple, functional and very sturdy but breaks down into four manageable sections. Crucially it puts the CD player at the perfect height to change discs standing up as I have back problems and prefer not stooping down to change discs.

I designed this unit a couple of years ago prompted by the arrival of flat-screen TV's - I see there's all sorts of similar designs at IKEA now, I should charge copyright!

I'm gonna do a similar job on some custom MDF CD shelves this summer - I loathe those revolting IKEA Billy's at left, the shelf spacing isn't optimised and I'm embarrassed on principal to have anything made out of lousy chipboard in my house!

It may be advised by Naim, but is only necessary with the more junior pieces if the half hour warm up period is unendurable. Mine is turned off daily except at the weekend. I find that the BBC [5] PM Programme and Six O'clock News [till six thirty] is quite long enough warm up to allow for brilliant replay of music, and it saves incrementally the plannet from purely wasted carbon emissions, at least these would be completely wasted for the nine months of the year that I would not countenance any artificial heating of my living space.

I do think this particular notion needs challenging.

Another indication of my view is that I have abandoned an IC powered car, prefering the glories of pedal power.
