I have looked at loads of cables this wee. Having no dealer in Northampton I cant get the time to test any.
It is a maze of reviews and products that I cant make head nor tail of. I have a budget of £200.00 new or second hand. I have a CDI and 90/92 set up using an (RCA) Shark interconnect cable (came free with player). I would like to upgarde but could do with a few hints as to what I should be looking for. |

For less than £200 you can buy a Nordost Red Dawn cable of e-bay. Will give loads of detail but some question its effect on the musics timing.
Alternatively you can pick up a standard Naim IC for next to nothing, gives the best all around sound. Regards NB |

Hi
I purchased a Chord Anthem for my non-Naim CD player a few years ago to connect to Naim amps and it worked well. However, when I changed to an all Naim system I found a new (DIN to DIN) Chord Anthem did not work, being by far better off with the standard Naim interconnect. I hope this helps and saves you a lot of money Julian |

The CDI should have been supplied with the standard Naim interconnect. That works best in the context of your system. Also, how are you using an RCA Shark interconnect when both the CDI and 92 have only DIN connections? Did you mean DIN? Or are you using the phono input with the RCA connections? If so that's not as good an input as the DIN ones. The Naim interconnect is cheap and effective. Other interconnects will do different things, such as be brighter, duller or have more resolution but will upset the balance in some way. Regards, Frank. All opinions are my own and do not reflect the opinion of any organisations I work for, except where this is stated explicitly. |

Cheers guys
The CDI was second hand a little while ago hence the Shark cable I got with it. And I am using the RCA in the AUX on the 92, it works fine but it is not ideal as I want to get a turntable and will have to put phono boards in. If any one has a naim Interconnect they would like to get rid of let me know on this post. I will put the £200.00 towards a turntable. |

Just ditto'ing the above - stay with the Naim lavender CD-Pre interconnect - I have tried all sorts and so far prefer the standard Naim lead.
