Glad you got a chance to met Derek he's a good guy and knows his stuff. Great if you get to see your speakers being built as well, there aren't many people can say that.
I'm sure you will love the C20's for a long time to come they are a fantastic speaker, just remember they take ages to run in!
If you are going to see Derek again though you can always prise another cup of tea out of him!!!

Cheers

Dave

Only the Allea and Kudos C30. Having lived with the C20 for 2 weeks I did not have the appetite to for 6 months of speaker demo's.

Allea were good but not as clean and clear as the C20. I could havde easily lived with them but not as much as the C20's

C30 was obviously better than 20 but too big a sound for my room, even with the low frequencies tuned down. Also too expensive for me at the moment and a little tall.

How big of a room? How did you tune down the low frequencies?

Dave,

It got better, Derek actually brought the new cherrywood C20's to my house last week and installed them even helping Simon do the cable soldering works due to a tricky fireplace positioning.

I am very happy so far and any running in improvements will be the icing on the cake!

I also wonder if there may also be a benefit from replacing 15 year old NAC cable with new stuff & connections & moving the Fraim stack away from the right hand speaker. The old connections looked a bit grubby.

It was a big compliment to have derek (mr Kudos & ex Neat chief designer) tell me my lounge acoustics were fine whilst blasting out a heavy bass track from Sniff n' the Tears during a quick demo of the C20's straight from the box.
