The 01 is the obvious choice but if you value remote operation, forget it.........
The 05 is a very good tuner but the 01 brings another dimension to music and speach.............
I use my 05 in multiple rooms, so the remote control is valuble for me....

Hi, I'm using a Green Hornet from TomTom Audio on an 02 to good effect - removes a lot of grain and drops the background noise level significantly. I have a Hiline too too, but the Hornet is GVFM.

@ fps1k:
Hello, the GREEN HORNET interconnect sounds interesting to me. Does it use the gold or silver platet pins on the DIN plug made by NEUTRIK? Thankx

The Hiline would be a good upgrade for Terry's tuner. And a easy one to demo. A lot cheaper than another tuner and Fraim level.

Have you already got a Ron Smith Galaxie 14 or 17 aerial? If not, you wil probably get more of an improvement than from changing to an 01 on the existing aerial. Nigel

I have had my 01 tuner since 1986. About a year ago I saw one for sale on ebay selling more than the price I paid for it! I understand the 01 had production problems so the 02 was born. I don't know why the others if they are degrades. If I were looking in the market today for a quality tuner to match or better the 01, then I would be interested in Magnum Dynolab. Problem is I can't find a distributor in the UK to hear a demo. Anyone else know of another competitor ? The tuner is a great source. If Naim produced another reference tuner tomorrow I would buy it now.

Not as I recall - the 02 was an all-in-one box and intended for a different niche. The 01 and 02 were discontinued in the same year. The 101 was replaced by the 02.

I think we would need a few more than 2. In fact there is theoretical demand - which might evaporate once a product was developed - price (considerably more than the NATO1) and availability of FM in the long-term are the 2 big factors to be weighed against the considerable development and production costs.

Any cable that 'removes' anything isn't what I'd advise......
