Just installed new CDX2/XPS2, out of box sounds great. I am told that new products have "burn in " period, taking some weeks.
Would be einterested in opinions/experiences on how long this takes - can I look forward to even more wonders sonically?

Wonders will arrive in tons, Lowcap !
It's almost a pity that you bought everything at the same time. This way, you'll have the fun only once...

About an hour, if you plug it in.

My CDS3 took five weeks to burn in and reach full performance.

is there any advantage in running it continuously in repeat mode?

No advantage.

Mine has been powered up for 4 weeks tomorrow and it's still swinging about a tiny bit. If running in a CD5, then a Hi Cap is anything to go by, I would say 4-6 weeks to settle down, followed by 1-2 months of gradual 'relaxing' during which the sound won't change much but it'll somehow be a bit more fluid soundiong. Or am I going bonkers? That's a posibility too.

Should be at or very near it's peak after week 4.

Probably.

Cheers

Harry

No.

It could take up to 2 months to reach its full potential. Be aware that the burn-in process can take two steps forward and one back; so don't panic if it sounds 'off' some days.

Just leave it powered up and enjoy the ride.

John.
