Hi

I've added a Yamaha AV processor to my Nait 5i for surround sound and it sounds awesome.

However, on the AV amp the volume of the centre speaker is at max and it's not quite enough as the 2 front speakers over power it a little. (the fronts and centre are all Dynaudio).

As I can't turn the centre up any more is there a way I can turn down the L and R fronts on the Nait 5i ?

The only other thing I can think of is the speaker cable as the centre is connected with some very old Cable Talk so might this be a factor ?

Thanks

All the speaker level settings should be adjustable relative to one-another in the set-up menu of your Yamaha. I assume you are feeding the L & R front channel line outs to your Nait's AV input prgrammed for unity gain. Sounds like all you need to do is to reduce the level of the front L & R speakers in the Yamaha set-up menu.

Peter

If this does not have enough adjustment - just switch off unity gain for the socket you are using for the AV and use the volume control on the Nait to get the correct balance.

Make a note of the position and use this every time you want to play video stuff.

You really should be able to do all this from the Yamaha - retaining the simplicity of Unity Gain on the Nait.

Thanks guys.

I'll take a look and see if I can adjust the levels in the Yamaha but it's over 8 years old and is a really simple bit of kit and only seems to have adjustments for centre volume, rear volume and rear delay...

If this fails I don't have a problem turning off unity gain and adjusting manually as I'd rather this than not being able to hear the dialogue as well as I might on some films...

cheers

(always a great fast response on this forum! Smile
