I bought one. It's a lot lot better than the old one I had. I took the opportunity to do a direct comparison between the two using two ARO tops in an LP12/252/300/focal jmlab Diva utopia system. The Rua is an absolutely gorgeous cartridge which addresses many of the weaknesses of the original Te Kaitora, predominantly problems in pace, bass and resolution.

Frank,
Have you ever managed to compare any of the above with an Akiva? I'm thinking of going for the Linn cart to put in an Ekos and am interested in possible alternatives.
Sean.

Thanks Frank - just what I wanted to hear. I have one sitting at my dealer now waiting for me. I'm trading up from a 10x5.

Ortofon SPU Royal-N is the best match to a Naim system. Naim people seem to agree. >Will add something funny when I think of it.<

I have to say the Te-Kaitora is (was) my favourite DV cartridge, it has two notable features missing from every other DV catridge I've heard: 1. Bass. 2. Smoothness. My experience of DV are limited to owning a XX2, 17D2 Mk1 and hearing a XX1. If the new one is an improvement, it would be very interesting to listen to. I do love the SPU Royal N - it's just not for Naim people, I think. regards Dev
