While waiting for my 202/200 amps to arrive I've been musing on
possible upgrades already. It seems that in the S/h market one can readily get a refurbished HiCap for about £550, a flatcap for £400 and a NAPSC for £130. Given that I will be running a stageline phono stage too what is the best VFM upgrade to consider? Just Hicap the 202 and continue to run the Stageline off the 202? Buy both Flatcap & NAPSC and power both the 202 and the stageline from the FC2. If I've misunderstood what gear can be plugged together I'm sure someone can tell me to RTFM. cheers Ian |

Hi Ian,
but two HiCaps: the first for the stageline, the second for the NAC 202. In this setup, imho, the stageline Hi is the most important one. Regards Fred |

hi Fred: - but if your budget was just £550 what would you do with it - still HiCap on the stageline only ??

Ian;
A NAPSC is essential for a 202 (for what it costs). A dedicated power supply really lifts the performance of a Naim pre-amp; so I would (and did) power the 202 with a HC and power the Stageline via the 202. If your vinyl use is substantial; think about a dedicated FC or HC for the Stageline in the future. John. |
