The short verdict is yes - the 500 drives 801s just lovely.
The longer verdict.... From the first few bars I realised how much I had missed this sound. I'm not sure what it is - but I've worked my way up the Naim tree for the last 25 years and I just seem to love the Naim sound. I really hadn't realised how much I had been missing through the Classe monoblocks. The Naim is altogether sweeter, more delicate in the treble, with a more pronounced and deeper bass. The speakers I fell in love with 6 years ago finally sounded excellent in my own room. Just gotta find the cash for a 500 now....

That famous Naim Signiture sound, hard to describe but you instantly know it.

Good to hear you are happy with the Naim/B&W combo,

Regards

Expensive but worth it, eh!

I love 500 with my 800s deeply and I'm pleased things worked out for you.

Great news Fossil as many predicted the 500 has got the Oomph. Thats a speaker amp combo I'd love to hear one day.

That's brilliant, Fossil, I dream of driving the ultra high end B&Ws with Naim!!

It must sound magical, as the problem I face in my upgrade journey is my NAP300 only has 90W so I'm not expecting it to be able to drive much in the 800 series.

Enjoy when you can!!

It does. I was very close to buying 802Ds and the bass works better in many rooms than the bigger ones.
