I believe that the CDI can take a CDM4 or CDM9 Pro drive, but you certainly shouldn't attempt to fit this yourself.

Why do you suspect that your CDI has a problem?

Anyway, don't be afraid of it - just use it untill it dies.
My CDI had a new transport fitted last year and sounds great.

Rob.

i have heard the transport to sound strange :too much time to get the track, impossibility sometimes to read some tracks that before are ok,the lens is clean i'm sure, and i have noticed some differences in getting fastly and without strange sound(sometimes the pick up hit loudly somewhere)the tracks if the cd had the right warm up.
