like em all

the early 90s double disc(brownish box) comes to mind though

and the mid-90s death of his dog?

never saw him LIVE, so you win.

An excellent overview of his career, plus a well organized book, complete with pics, bio etc. A great place to start with Prine. Anything "Rhino" touches usually deserves a second look....

Yeah, I got a number of old John Prine records from the early-mid 70's - great stuff. I still seem to end up humming "Granpa was a carpenter" completely out of the blue - an infectuous tune often muttered by a former colleague about 15 years ago. I ended up buying the discs (had to comb the used stores for them) out of curiousity, and dug what I found.

Haven't heard much of the newer stuff, although have seen it in evidence at Real Music Company from time to time.
