Dear Naimers,

PHANTOM LIMB PRESS LAUNCH
TUE 29th July - Monkey Chews, Camden, LONDON
Doors 7.30pm (band on 8.30pm)

The first act under the new Naim Edge label, Phantom Limb, will be playing an intimate and exclusive showcase in Camden.

The show will be guest-list only so please do not try and get in on the night. However, we have two pairs of tickets reserved for anyone who would be interested in attending. This is on a first come first served basis.

If this is of interest, please e-mail your details to: info@thenaimlabel.com

Check the band out here: www.myspace.com/phantomlimbrobot

The Phantom Limb sound is an indefinable blend of classic southern soul and country blues. They blend modern songwriting and rich acoustic music with powerful gospel-inflected vocals. Already comparisons are being made to Mavis Staples, Aretha Franklin and The Band. Their honest, melancholic, Bristolian edge creates one of the most original and compelling new propositions of recent years.

I can't deduce from their website if any of the band members are amputees...

Simon,
can you give more details of the types of artists which this new side to the label are going to sign?

I feel that its a move forward expanding your repetoire away from just jazz and classical.

All the best

Ryan

Thank you all for your support! Yes, we will run something for forum users - to give you a further sneak peak closer to the release date. The album will be out on compact disc and 180gsm vinyl on 25th August.

The Naim Edge label, for me, is an accurate representation of the organic, humane and honest approach of both the Naim sound, and the way Naim does business.

Stylistically branching out presents the needs of our users and I hope I can find new and exciting propositions that meet your needs! Naim has never been about the genre specific - I mean to serve our artists by finding talent and personalities that really deserve that extra shove into the marketplace – irrespective of hype.

I'm really proud of what we've got coming on Naim Edge...and audiophiles are amongst the last ears around listening to an album intently in its entirety - and in that mind your opinions mean the most. Hopefully there will be something for everyone by the time Naim Edge is truly up and running!

I agree with Ryan. It definitely sounds like a move in the right direction. Will be interested to see how it progresses...

Sounds good. Like the comment on the myspace page about visiting their label and listening to the album on a very expensive stereo. He likes the packaging too!
