Prormpted by Ron The Mon’s comments, I’d like assistance/recommendations on the above – the guy is so ubiquitous, so diverse that a little help so sort sheep from goats would be a big help!

In no particular order, my top 5:

- Drunk With Passion – Golden Palominos
- A Dead Horse – Golden Palominos
- Dub Chamber 3
- Hear No Evil
- Panthalassa: The Music Of Miles Davis (even though (or perhaps because) I’m not a big Davis fan)

Biggest disappointment:

- Tabla Beat Science – Tala Matrix (I’m a huge fan of western/Indian crossover music, e.g. Talvin Singh, Nitin Sawhney, Black Star Liner, Badmarsh & Shri, but this was a tad too much what it says on the label)

I pride myself on knowing stuff, and sometimes it really does you good to realise you don't!

I have both the Sly and Robbies, but had I noticed that they were produced by Bill Laswell? Nope.

I don't have the LP of Language Barrier (my favourite), but I remember the vinyl sounding better than the fairly sharp and thin-sounding CD that I have...

Thank You!

I've just bought the Laswell "re-constiututed" Carlos Santana CD (in the style of his Miles Davis work). It's brilliant.
