Can somebody please tell me who did the original version of 'straight up' as covered by Thea Gilmore on her recent EP. This is driving me mad, I seem to recall it was some euro bubble gum band and that I hated it at the time! The EP is great by the way!

The song was made famous in the 80's by Paula Abdul. It wasn't written by her, but it says who did write it on the sleeve.

You have put me out of my misery! The songwriter was Elliot/Wolf I believe (this is from a vague memory of the sleave notes) which made me think it was euro in origin!
