It seems to be that time of year when next years tours are announced. So perhaps a central spot to see who we've missed so far?
Our List so far
Richard Thompson January RFH
Jackson Browne
Aussie Pink Floyd
Ultravox in April
Jean Michel Jarre in May
Porcupine Tree in October

So far I booked tickets for:

Leonard Cohen - January
Robert Flack - February
Angelique Kidjo - April
Lucinda Williams - April

I just completed as well my subscription for the Sydney Symphony with 8 performances of my choosing over the full year 2009.

AC/DC - not sure when, a friend booked those.
Porcupine Tree - October

Hoping Mark Kozelek (Sun Kil Moon/Red House Painters) gets over here some time next year, maybe 'April'!

Van Der Graff Generator are doing some dates, but none announced in the UK for 2009 so far, but I hope there will be some, or maybe a Hammill solo.

BigH47.
Enjoy the Jean Michel Jarre, I saw an early part of that tour this year, and it was superb, the sound of those analogue synths and the P.A. he was using was one of the richest aural live experiences I have had.

Hi Jamie it was SWMBOs choice more than mine but I've always enjoyed his concerts on video.

So far booked.......

Richard Thompson
David Byrne
Jackson Browne
Porcupine Tree
Julia Hulsmann Trio
Nik Bartsch Ronin
Marcin Wasilewski Trio
Bobo Stenson

Many more to come. Am interested in the potential VDGG tour dates. Might also consider JMJ.

Also plan to try and attend a summer jazz festival in the South of France or Italy.

Oliver - Jane and I went to see David Byrne last time he was in Sydney in Newtown. It was a show we went to not knowing what to really expect. We came out of the show on a real high. He was just so superb live - so inventive and imaginative. A really good night out.

He's coming in early February to the Opera House, will ponder over it for a while.
Cheers ... Oliver

Going to try and get to as many Classical concerts as my funds allow and looking forward to the Proms already. Also want to see & hear my first Opera and might even get to a Ballet as well and definitely some live Jazz.
