Listened to Dave Cousins and the Strawbs alot back in the mid '70s. only thing I have by them now is a two-disc anthology that hits the player from time to time. favorite albums were Hero and Heroine and several earlier ones with Wakeman.

Hope you enjoy the show.

Porcupine Tree + Anathema - downstairs standing at The Forum in London on FRI, 09/11/2007, starts at 19:00

Fear of a Blank Planet Vinyl should be released by then + extra tracks. Apparently later this year an EP with four new songs will be released, also from the FoaBP sessions.

Antonio Forcioni at Bristol on 29th July.

It's fairly close and the venue looks interesting. Looking forward to it.

Just booked for Brian Wilson (special RFH commission) and Decemberists at the RFH.

Great venue - good acoustics, close to Charing Cross (so not far to walk from the train) and nice comfy seats. Not getting old at all, oh no.

Ryan,

I have Stories from the City which I like and after your review I thought it would be good to see Polly, thanks. If you make to RFH we could have a beer in the Members Bar.

Gary,

Just having a quick listen to the Decemberists @ NPR. Not heard them before and sound quite a jolly bunch, so Dicuss won't like em Winker

Brian Wilson doing Smile at the RFH a couple of years back was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

Whether this new work will be good is another matter but it'll be interesting nevertheless.

I've only recently been turned on to them (thanks Jeff) so this was serendipidous. And what's more the wife likes both bands :-)

Gary,

I think you will enjoy them, and I believe the support will be Laura Veirs and the Saltbreakers who are definitely worth seeing. And don't be surprised if they are all on stage together by the end of the evening as Laura knows them well and sings some parts on "The Crane Wife" disc. I am envious.

I am probably wrong then, maybe she is supporting them on US dates not posted, she mentioned "this fall" at her show in June. Sorry to lead you astray.

Canadians. OK, but nothing earth-shattering it would seem. Myspace site here.

No sweat though Jeff - I'll keep a look out for her dates over here.
