Hi Mark

He was awesome, I can't believe how good his voice still is. Fantastic band too, as you'd expect.

He started off with Miles' "All Blues" played on harmonica!

My personal highlights were "I Wish", "Ribbon In The Sky" and "Do I Do".

Over the course of two and three-quarter hours he did (from memory): Sir Duke, Superstition, Lately, As, Isn't She Lovely, Higher Ground, My Cherie Amour, Visions, Golden Lady, Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing, Signed Sealed Delivered, Uptight, Masterblaster, Donny Hathaway's The Ghetto, several jams, and yes, THAT song.

There were places were it sagged a bit, maybe a few too many ballads for my taste, but he's still got it, and shows up Prince and Michael Jackson for the parvenus they are.

Thanks for the info, Kevin.

That sounds like a pretty good set! I can suffer THAT song for the sake of the others.

Roll on the 30th!

Cheers, Mark

He will perform two songs, one classic and one from his new album.
Show starts on BBC1 at 22:35, & on BBC1 Scotland at 23:10.
